Mite Howler Jamboree

Join us at the end of the road for an exciting weekend of hockey! Games will be both in the Ely Ice Arena and Babbitt's Ron Castellano Ice Arena. The first Howler Jamboree started in 2016 and is held annually as a Mite & Mini-Mite Jamboree weekend. It overlaps with the 10-day Ely Winter Festival full of ice sculptures in the park, art walks, food trucks, and outdoor skating.

Mite Jamboree Guidelines

• Reduced ice at 3/4 ice, divided by boards at blue line to access individual team benches

• 2 periods of 24 minutes each, no re-surfacing; ice will be resurfaced between each game

• 5 minute warm up, 1 minute rest between periods

• Line changes every 2 minutes at horn. Face off at line changes only.

• Scoring team MUST “tag up” to at least center ice after goals

• Teams will play 4 v 4 with a suited goalie, unless coaches determine otherwise

• Home team listed wears light jersey, away team wears dark jersey

• Referee will be on ice calling penalties. No icing or off sides. Penalties will be “ill-mannered intent” such as hooking, tripping, charging, etc. Player will sit remainder of shift on bench.
